DESCRIPTION:Free for members\, $5 for non-members\nLocation:       Online Only\nFacebook:     @stcloudareagenealogists \nTo register\, please email scag@stcloudareagen.org one week prior to the event for payment and login details. \nA Crash Course in Practical Genetic Genealogy \nDr. Adina Newman will present online to the St. Cloud Area Genealogists with the webinar “A Crash Course in Practical Genetic Genealogy” on Tuesday\, October 19\, 2021 at 7 p.m. Newman will provide some basic strategies that will help participants navigate the different types of DNA tests and the major commercial testing companies as well as learning strategies to locate DNA matches. A case study will pull together the strategies taught in the presentation. \nAdina Newman\, EdD\, is the owner of My Family Genie\, where she assists clients in their research and blogs about her own family history. Her main interests are in Jewish genealogy\, genetic genealogy\, and New England. She has a doctorate in educational leadership and the certificate in genealogical research from Boston University. She volunteers as a Facebook moderator for a Jewish genetic genealogy group\, Social Media Coordinator for NextGen Genealogy Network\, and a discussion leader for ProGen 50.
