DESCRIPTION:Join us on Saturday\, April 9 at 1pm for a special presentation on Native American Boarding Schools in Minnesota! \nThis presentation and exhibit explore the history of Native American Boarding Schools operated by Benedictines in Minnesota. Beginning in the late 1800s\, these schools supported\, and at times subverted\, federal assimilation policies. Through an examination of archival material\, “Our Worlds Intertwined” highlights the resilience of Native nations and the need of truth and reconciliation. \nCost is $7 for nonmembers\, $3 for college students\, and members are free. \nTo register online\, please click here. DESCRIPTION:The Stearns History Museum will be hosting a pop-up exhibit\, where you can bring your recipes\, special ingredients\, or just tools of the trade\, and share it and its meaning with our visitors! \nMaybe you have an old family recipe that’s been passed down for generations\, or an old piece of traditional cookware or utensils. It could be anything & we want you to share it with us! Bring your items any time between April 21-26 and fill out a label to share your story during the discussion. \nJoin us on April 26 from 5:30-7 to share the story of your items and to see what others bring to the table! This event is complementary to the April series of the Minnesota Voices Book Club program.
