SUMMARY:Drywall vs. Lath and Plaster Hands-On Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Learn about the benefits and drawbacks of Drywall vs. Lath and Plaster from Mark Johnston\, owner of Historic Design Consulting and an expert in the building preservation trades at this hands-on workshop. Mark will demonstrate original eighteenth- and nineteenth-century techniques for plaster repair at a beautiful Prairie-style home built ca. 1915 on the banks of the Mississippi River near downtown St. Cloud and show how home and building owners can use modern products to achieve similar results. Whether you are a home or building owner needing help with repairs\, a preservation enthusiast eager to learn or just want to know how things are built\, this workshop is for you! \nGeneral admission for the class is $30. Admission for Stearns History Museum members is $25. \nClass size is limited so register today! \nTo register\, visit stearnshistorymuseum.org or contact Ann Marie at 320-253-8424 or development@stearns-museum.org. \nThis project is in part funded by the Historic Preservation Education Foundation.
