The museum and reception are free and open to the public for this event. LWV exhibit will be on display from June 1- August 27. \nReservations are recommended due to limited space! For as much flak as SPAM gets sometimes\, without it\, WWII could have gone a little differently. So to celebrate this glorious meat concoction\, Eric will be doing a series of recipes on SPAM\, all while giving you some little historical nuggets about the wonder meat. This week- an upside-down SPAM pie! \nNOTE: This video is a little quiet\, so don’t be afraid to turn up the volume! \nSPAM upside-down pie recipe: Line an 8-inch mold with SPAM slices and fill with baking powder biscuit dough (prepared or home-mixed)\, well-laced with tiny cubes of SPAM. Bake 40-45 minutes at 425 degrees F. Turn it out on a platter\, fill center with a tart cheese sauce (as one made with tomato or horseradish) and watch the family turn out and fill the table in a hurry! \n \n

Collections Curator Eric Cheever shows us how to make a couple of precious eggs go a little further\, something English and American soldiers would do when they got the chance! \nEgg in a Nest (Mock Fried Egg): -2 fresh eggs -water -2 slices fresh bread -bacon grease \nBeat the eggs in a bowl and set aside. Add bacon grease to a warm pan. Cut a hole in the center of two slices of bread\, set aside. Dip one side of each slice of bread in water\, then add to the pan.
