Since its inception in 2017\, the school has worked to build community through hands-on learning and the sharing and teaching of traditional practices\, arts and crafts. The school traces its history back to 1969 when Francis and Karen Schellinger\, the parents of founder and executive director\, Chris Schellinger\, purchased the land.
